Questions about the Exploration system?
In regards to exploration, where is a route of exploration based on a Scholastic / Arcane Methodology, research, rumors, gathering the history of an area, divinations
Excellent question.The short answer is, unreleased - in Ritual Magick.
The longer answer: You will notice that there is one class for exploration, one for combat, one social and one for the unreleased campaign system.
The Mage is a class that dabbles in all methods of play. The only released Mage style is combat, but in every other playstyle, the Mage has rituals in that playstyle.
However, for our first alpha test, we want to narrow our focus.
To be honest I understand the KISS Method, but to me this rulebook reads very dry and almost too simplistic. I see the certain areas that are dumbed down from our prior version but not sure the reasons. I also feel that the removing from combat to switch things up idea to be something we tried but did not work very well, but that could just be my take on it.
Our goal has been to make a game which removes unnecessary complexity and redundancy and focuses on strategy, teamwork and good encounter writing. Our testing has proven that this is the case so far, and the game play is enjoyable. Simple complexity- a lot can happen but with less complicated rules.
All I can say is it is a game you must play to experience, a rulebook read really doesn't let you experience the game play. And of course, we are in alpha so things are more bare bones and dry.
