Looking Forward to Season 2025

To the incredible players and supporters of our Apotheosis campaign,

Since the last event concluded, we have been hard at work conducting a detailed review of what went well and what did not last season and where we can improve. This includes analyzing player feedback, assessing logistical challenges, and collaborating with our staff to address the areas that need attention. We are also planning focused improvements on story pacing, encounter engagement, and ensuring smoother operational flow.

Our goal is to make things simpler for staff and players alike, allowing us to focus more on running encounters and entertainment, to lower stress levels and focus on having a good time. To that end, here are some highlights of our changes and improvements:

  1. We are implementing a Game Center, a concept from Legynds Classic that was highly effective. The Game Center is a bustling hub of activity and utility, situated in a strategic location accessible to all players. It serves as the heart of economic gameplay, enabling crafting, resource management, and logistical interactions like printing. The Game Center will maintain specific hours, to be announced in the future.
  2. Check-in will be separate from the Game Center. Check-in is for cabin assignments, event fee confirmation, and picking up your character sheet. If you have anything economic to handle, go to the Game Center.
  3. In order to minimize printing complexity:
    1. Katas, Orations, Ploys and Secrets no longer need to be printed. These skills will now be your character sheet, and their abilities have been added to the rulebook.
    2. When you buy a ritual skill, or a ritual from a BGA, you will receive one copy of the ritual. Rituals are now Magical works, and copies must be created with the Entertainer skill at the Game Center.
    3. Schema, Plans, Recipes and Patterns are Written works, and copies are also made with the Entertainer skill at the Game Center.
  4. Estate actions are no longer processed as Downtime actions, freeing everyone up to do Cultural Journeys. This will prevent the massive load of pre-event resource packaging previously made for each player at check in. Instead, we will have sign up time for Estate and campaign encounters (similar to the DAS action is Second Dawn). You can interact with each Estate once during an event. Campaign encounters will not be set up in such a way that requires any player to attend that does not wish to. More information on that soon.
  5. We are also focused this year on putting characters in higher positions of leadership in factions. Many characters have been working hard to advance their Renown and Rank. Rank 7 is the Rank of head of a faction; thus a character achieving this rank has the possibility of becoming the head of a faction. This is not automatic, as upon achieving Rank 7, there is likely already an NPC as the head of that faction. Keep your eyes and ears open for ways that you can move into a leadership position over a faction if this is a goal for you.

We are looking forward to a great year!

With gratitude,
Chris Dodson
